The firm is targeting six to eight Irish clients in their first year here. This may seem modest, but achieving this goal will be a challenge in the current economic climate. The German company DaVinci found the Irish market a nutshell difficult to break and has closed its marketing operation here. Huf's houses cost around €2,000 to €2,500 per square meter - approximately two or three times the level that a home built by quality system usually costs in this country. But don't think of prefabricated when you think Huf Haus -- thinks of contemporary design "factorwow", high-tech methodology and "fast construction" par excellence. However, it is possible to purchase a product with quality wood structure in this country at significantly lower prices. Apart from the operation of the century Kingspan, German Passive Homes, in Greystones, Co Wicklow, represents the powerful group Forshem and will provide a tough competition for the newcomer.
